RE: Chassis battery discharge

Thanks for all the replies. The battery is the original one on the 2005 motorhome, so I would assume that it is of 2004 vintage. To be honest, I never really have used the disconnect, but I checked it this morning and I can hear a relay or however they work kick in and out as I push the button. I am going to take the battery for a check today. Thanks again for all the help.
We have a 2006 Tioga and we had the same problem. Had it checked and the battery had a bad cell. Replaced battery problem went away.

RE: Mid CA 5th Bi- Annual Fall Rally - Oct. 10 & 11th 2008

Anyone else coming from Sac area? I asked already, but which way do you go? We go to San Luis Obispo, and go down I5 to Avenal, but I was wondering if going 80-680-101 is better roads/faster? Anyone know?
See you in a few days!
We spend a lot of time out in the Delta and the route I would use is I5 to 205 to 580 to 680 to 101. Usually smooth as long as you miss the commute in Tracy and San Jose.
Ok, I really swear I am not this dense normally, people! I just really dont like driving into the unknown with a travel trailer. So, I want to find the easiest/fastest way. So, nerdofparadise, your way on yahoo maps says 3.5 hours, and a few others posts say go down 5 to Santa Nella then over, but thats 3.5 hours from 5, so it seems since Tracy is over an hour before Santa Nella, that would cut an hour off. If I go 5 to 205, that should be about 5 hours... Sounds like the way to go? I want to try and get out of town by 12:30ish, so I should miss most of the traffic in San Jose and Tracy.
I guess we can just wing it, and depending on which lane i am in is the way i will go. We have a GPS too, once we get close.
Thanks everyone for all your help! Oh, and Doug, if anyone tries to park in #3 tomorrow, tell them its really unlevel, or haunted or something. :D

Adam/Sherry-thoughts and prayers are with you/him!
We come in on the 101 from the South. We stay on the 101 until we are in Paso Robles. Punch the address into your GPS. Our GPS took us right to the camp ground. We got confused on G14 but the GPS was right on the money, we just trusted that to get us in. It did.

RE: What is the most spectacular view you've ever seen?

I think, so far, it would be the painted canyon in Yellowstone.

RE: Camping with a dog . . . is it hard to do

We camp alot in Ca and never have been refused because of our dogs. A few will restrict the size allowed. Most state and NF allow dogs in the state.

RE: Water in the Campgrounds

Usually drink bottled water and use it for coffee and the dogs. We have had a couple of occasions where the dogs have had diarrea, don't know for sure it was from the water but it hasn't happen since we started using bottled water. I will drink the water in Yellowstone or similiar areas as I was raised on well water and love the taste and it usually is very cold right from the tap.

RE: Mid CA 5th Bi- Annual Fall Rally - Oct. 10 & 11th 2008

We have a new RV! Well, it's not new (1975). And it can barely be called an RV. Let's just say it need some upgrades...like inside paneling, some new ceiling, kitchen counter/sink/stove, dinette, couch/bed...but the bathroom is pretty much intact (except the ceiling.)
The guy I got it from had purchased it from another guy who had been using it as a "cabin". After he bought it he started stripping out the interior. He did buy new roof vents and fresh water tank, but nothing was installed. Bumper to hitch it's 25'.
The bad news is that it won't be ready for SAL. :(

RE: Mid CA 5th Bi- Annual Fall Rally - Oct. 10 & 11th 2008

TGIF!!!!!!
Only the contractor showed up yesterday and got one minor thing done. I'm not a happy camper, but I haven't paid anyone yet either.
Butch, I am sure it was a sad but happy moment to say goodbye to your MH. Happy times are a head of you & Karla in your TC.
Lee, I read Sheila's post on your blog and I have my fingers crossed and will say my prayers for Brianna. The place sounds wonderful for her, a chance to be independant and a chance for mom and dad to have some alone time. Sounds perfect, keep us posted.
Steve & Terry, safe travels, let us know where you end up at.
Anyone going camping this weekend?
Have a good day all!
We are headed up to Silent Valley Resort near Idylwild for the weekend. Half day at work and off we go.

RE: Mid CA 5th Bi- Annual Fall Rally - Oct. 10 & 11th 2008

Since time is getting close, will there be signs pointing us in the right direction once we get to the Lake? I know this time we are closer to the lake right? I think I still have the directions to the lake saved in the GPS.
